i wouldnt worry about that, i think being french it has all its faults when new, so later on it becomes extremley reliable.
So at the moment the best citroen to buy would be a xantia or xm

I nearly bought an XM before the Honda. Was nice but of the 1991 era a bit too old.

The Xantia was very reliable. I only sold it because I thought it was very middle-aged looking, had a quarter-life crisis, bought the Alfa GTV.
