i remember being ferried around in the back of the old merc 250d in the rearmost seats, we thought going backwards was fanstastic, and you could wave at the people behind you. As a child getting in and out of the boot was ok especially as the mercedes had a button to open the boot and it lifted itself, but an adult or me now would just bang my head on the roof.

One thing though is that if you mounted lcd screens on the bootlid they at least would serve a purpose unlike the ones on pimp my ride who put lcd monitors on the inside of the bootlid on a saloon.

Uncle had a Renault 21 Savanna that was 7 seats and a decent boot, room for a dog and all. The only problem was you were facing the wrong way on the rearmost seats, and getting in and out of a boot wasn't the most dignified way of entering or leaving a car.

All the 21 Savanna (or Nevada) 7 seaters I saw had them all facing the front. The Laguna had rear facing seats in some of them.

they seem like relativley low power outputs for the size of the engine, were they reliable?

the Savanna is very reliable,
ive had a few, only probs ihad was drive shaft problems,

there good on fuel too very economical,
not many of them left now, future classic perhaps ?

definatley a classic a proper big estate, the french were very good at the big estates still are, but the old ones like the savanna, cx, 505 were massive.

Definitely rear facing. A 1988 car. Either the spec for that year, or unofficial seats out of something like a 505.

All other pictures of a 21 Savanna / Nevada "7 places" have forward facing seats. But I know they were rear facing, back to back rear seats, climbing in and out of the boot and facing the rear window!

Although renault had an influence on america, for a while they worked with American motors.

Yep sold the 21 out there, I think as the Medallion?

BL had wanted them to partner with them, but at the time they wanted to sell the Renault 9 as a Triumph, but wouldn't let Renault sell it in the UK (as they did for the Honda Ballade mk1)

A dell TAR, thats definatley an antrim way to pronounce tower, sort of like the way some parts around here say Wan instead of One. But its not a bad deal though
here is more unusual spelling, but even in armagh we dont pronounce it like this:
