If anyone is thinking of buying them I can recommend the rear brace. The front is ok in theory - it does decrease the ground clearence quite a bit though, id say about 30mm. I have driven over speed bumps (the sleeping policeman type) at 20mph and all fine, but I wont chance it when the car is lowered - so i will be selling the front bar as it will be useless to me.

Where did you get them from as I've never seen them either? If I still have a 406 when you remove it, I may be interested in the front one as I've got no plans for lowering anything.

Bought from UltraRacing in Malaysia - google them. The front brace will be off by the weekend.

What is the purpose of these front and rear braces?
Now if I can just fit the mods from "Taxi" http://tinyurl.com/3yug4g3

I can provide PP2000/Lexia 3 code reading/clearing in the East Cornwall/West Devon area.

Stiffen suspension, reduce tyre wear. Just basically stops the chassis flexing under cornering, thus improving grip and handling. Can reduce torque steer aswell on some cars.

Difficult to describe, :?

I think mine's gradually remodelling itself from unitary construction to something altogether more, well, tasty. :arrowd:

The front one would be a nuisance here with the bumpy roads, and me using my 406 for driving through the odd field now and then.
I have a strut brace on the front in the engine bay which is great, how much is the rear one.

Farmerpug, rear brace is £54.20 + postage. Cant say if its done anything for handling though.

thats pricey, the front brace i think was only about £30. Although it does look well made, can they be painted?

Nah, £54 is cheap for a chassis brace. These are the only rear lower braces available for the 406, no one else makes them. They are already factory painted and you cant really see them unless you lie under the car so dont really see a point in painting them?
