It started last week, after the kids went down with some sickness bug, one after the other, then I got it with a wheasy chesty cough on top. Struggled through a week at work and getting out of the warm lorry into near freezing weather then back in the warm and so on didn't help. Then the flu part kicked in on the last day before my holiday.
I take 1000mg vit c daily but since I started with flu I've upped that to 6000mg daily. Today I feel much better:) maybe tomorrow I'll be able to venture out to get on with the car.

As a side note I'd read somewhere about somone who had swine flu who was getting worse and worse in hospital. Someone of intelligence insisted they give him vitamin c via a drip. The hospital refused saying that would not help. At the point they were about to give up and let him fade away, his brother threatened them with legal action and reluctantly they administered 60g vit c through a drip as the digestive system cannot handle the huge dose. Almost immediately he began to improve. After a few days he was well enough to come out of intensive care and fully recovered. He now campaigns for this super dose to be made mandatory in severe hospitalised flu cases.

It just goes to show the importance of vitamins and minerals and the fact that the recommended daily allowance Is far far to low.
