Hello and thanks for the welcome my new car is a 51 plate 2.0 hdi glx estate .I dont actually pick it up till the week after Xmas .it has a suspect headgasket but because of the condition of the rest of the car and the price I believe it is a good buy .as previously mentioned I have done plenty of spaner work and intend to do the gasket myself if its a possible diy job .Ive just rebuilt the head and turbo on a vw 1.9td so I have an idea of some of the pitfalls but obviously there are going to be differences and any remarks/tips or hints would be gratefull .I all ways take photos of the work I do (mainly for reference)and these Ill be happy to pass on if any bodys interested.
once again thanks for welcome .
Sorry doggy won,t be re-releasing any songs this yr but keep hopeing you never Know :cheesy:

Hi all .
Ok have now collected the car and over the next few days I will endeavor to find all its probs .When it stops raining
I drove it back (about 40 miles )no apparent serious hicups .airbag light on and front washers didnt work .clutch seemed to slip a bit at first but improved as I drove so maybe just need to get use to it ?
Not sure about head gasket as yet as I said drove it back no probs and the temp gauge stayed steady @ 90 ,gonna take her for a sniff test next week and go from there .
Apparently the bottom pulley was replaced (common fault?) but previous owner couldnt say if belts were done or not .Once I know about head then Ill decide on which way to go .but will deffo b doing a full belt change and service in the next couple weeks .
Be really great-full if anyone can give me any tips on more common probs that I should check for.
thanks in advance for any help.
