Electric window problem ....

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Sorry typo , passenger window , . So if the wipers work but not as they should
could this be caused by failing relay , or could both probs be caused by bad
earth as i know there are some earth points under the carpet .

The front and rear wiper relays are inside the BSI. The switches only signal the BSI, the BSI itself controls the speeds and everyfink, the wiper motor signals the park position with an earth but, instead of switching this earth through to the motor, the BSI provides one of its own. You should hear both of these relays working when the wipers are in intermittant.

None of the earthing points or interconnects appear to be common and the only common cable is 10 PR. The BSI does not provide the earths for the windows, only the supply and if this wasn't going through then the windows wouldn't do anything at all.

Check for those earths. Check everything on the car for anything else that doesn't work. I presume the intermittants on both wiper motors don't work (?)

Two relays failing simultaneously, even with puggy's aerobatics, seems a tad unlikely.
Might be worth a BSI reset first.
If that doesn't do it, scaring it with a PP2000 might, (my aircon's stayed fixed since I cleared an alleged short cicuit compressor fault in the BSI)
I'd try both before resorting to the soldering iron
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

Windows cured simply by replacing drivers window switch, though
i had removed passenger door card to check motor and totally stripped
and cleaned drivers switch before doing this
