Competition Time Front drop links

Hi guys could we have a competition on how long front drop links last I replaced mine in April and now the offside one is due for replacement again .9 months they,ve been on any ones lasted less/

it all depends on road conditions. if your a heavy motorway user and hardly use round town roads then your links should last quite a long time. avoid bumps and potholes will also extend the life of them .

on ym estate are those stupid speed bumps i have to go over every day so thats no good for me .

a mechanic changed mine in september now i hear a clunk coming from the front right, i think ill do it myself the next time.

ithink youve done realy well, getting 9mths out of a Droplink,
idont see Qh ones and others lasting that long,

ithink they shouid be treated like alight bulb, (Just have spare one handy for when they go )

I gave up with QH years ago, their cost cutting seemed to involve not putting any reinforcing on the seals so they don't last 5 minutes.

It's a point though, some drop links will last longer than others, in addition to how many miles you do, how you you them and what sort of roads you drive on. The OE ones Pug fitted to both my cars didn't last all that long, and I don't think these present ones are long for this world either They lasted 18 months of not much driving at all TBH.

QH... Took less than 6 months for one of those drop links to disintegrate on mine

I use a make called "First Line" these are what are sold in most motor factors in my area.

I've never had a comeback or warranty situation with these.

They seem well built and seem to last very well.

The mechanic i leave my car at goes to a motor factors that would do QH stuff, would it be better to go to the dealer or ebay the drop links instead?

Not to the dealer, they're crap. I'd be careful on ebay too, unless you know the make.

Qh stuff seems to be getting abit hit&miss on Quality,
ive bought Droplinks that havent Rusted, and others have, after aweek they look a yr old,
got some on the Picarso thatave been on 6mths ish and they still look the same as they did when ibought them,

As of the Ebay ones ive had no luck with them in the past,
but last ones igot (toplinks ) off ebay igave Gary406 a pair off same supplier his lasted mine didnt,
so it couid be down to my Driving skills, driving over speed humps at 30mph perhaps -that finnished em off,

I think some of the problem is that my street is cobbled ,and also I have to go down a street with six speed bumps at least 4 times a day, but its not like I drive like Steve Mcqueen I drive over them very gingerly .I do very little motorway driving and the roads I use aint the best .Maybe I should walk more

Ive just noticed the clunking noise must be affecting the tracking, my front right wheel is bald on the outer edge, and it wasn't the last time i checked the threads a month ago.

frank get the track rod ends checked . probably those thats causing the tyre to wear unevenly
i dont think the droplinks would cause tyrewear
