New 406 HDi 110 owner

Post by Steve406HDi »

Hi all,

Just been given a 406 that was going to be scrapped because of an immobiliser problem. Performed a BSI reset and hey presto! All working again.

It's a 406 2.0 HDi 110 LX, X-reg, done 110k miles in silver, 1 owner from new and very tidy. So far it's the best value car I've ever owned!

Hello :cheesy:

One occasion where those "French electrics" everyone moans about has netted you a free motor - lucky sod! :cheesy:

110k miles is nothing for these cars; some of the taxi 406s are known to have clocked up more than 3x that number and still been going strong.

Thanks guys, you all seem a friendly bunch.

I'm not massively mechanically minded but I've had a little experience tinkering and modifying Land Rovers, and various other bits, and will try and tackle anything before submitting to the experts. It's handy I work in the car trade (ok, I sell Renaults and Nissans), but seemingly nobody else at work knew about the particular problem my 406 was experiencing, but a few hours with Google and found the info.

I'll get some photos of it posted up ASAP.

<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang
