Hello from snowy Buckinghamshire !

Post by Tubthumper »

Good morning all,

I've just bought my first 406, an HDI 90 Rapier estate, and after a weeks commuting , I'm pleasantly surprised with it :D

The first issue I encountered was there seemed to be no heat going into the front footwells, but have reached up through the passenger footwell, and wiggled a few wires, that problem is now fixed ! One silly problem, which I'm almost too embarraced to mention, is I'm having a real struggle in replacing one of the number plate bulbs, as I can't seem to be able to get the plastic lens cover off , any ideas ?!!

Next on the list of things to get are ;

1. Roof bars, as I used them a lot on my previous daily ( ZX estate )
2. Single socket towbar.

So, if anyone has any of these for sale, drop me a line !

Cheers,

Malc.

Hi Malc & welcome to the forum. 8)

The number plate lamps are a PITA. Some of the guys recokon they can prise the cover off, others that you can lever the whole assembly out, then open it up & change the lamp. Maybe I'm thick/clumsy/dumb, but I can't do it without breaking something, to save my life.

The good news is that relacing the whole shooting match, (lamp assembly), is cheap:
Reference Description Quantity Price - VAT Price + VAT Total + VAT Selection
00006340A3 LICEN PLAT LAMP 2.61 GBP 3.13 GBP 3.13 GBP

That's £3.13 each inc VAT from the stealers (& I think it includes the bulb too).

So have a go & if you break it, it's no big deal. 8)

I've always found them easy - probably because they spend half their time dangling loose :oops:

Well, looks like I've sorted the roof bars ( Thanks Brett ) , with help from this forum, so just the towbar to sort. Does anybody recommend anywhere that sells/fits them in Herts/Bucks ? Or has anyone got one for sale ? :)
