Well done, Frank I also get the airbag fault when programming the ECU, so it seems normal. Do you get a lot of smoke on hard acceleration? Also, watch out for juddering when booting it up a hill which, I believe, is the DMF disintegrating
You've just remapped your ECU; that's what the remapping places do.
The difference is that the remapping places typically have a library of ECU pre-sets that will get more power out of any car's engine (so there's not much actual work involved for them). These maps are designed to produce more power, but are not tailored to your driving needs, and don't squeeze 100% out of the engine. Companies like Superchips work in this way, and there's really nothing wrong with that; they've had to produce these better-than-standard maps in the first place, and most people will notice a performance boost when using them, and will be happy with the work done.
The best remapping places don't use a standard library of maps, though - instead, they will create a map specific to your car (every engine is slightly different, after all) and to your driving style and needs. If you go to them and ask for a map that squeezes all the performance out of the car and gives great acceleration, that's what you'll get. If you go to them and say you tow a caravan, they'll give a map that helps with that. If you ask for a map that improves fuel economy, they'll do their best to help make your car a bit more frugal. If your car is already modified (better induction and exhaust systems, fast road cams, uprated turbo/intercooler, etc) then this type of mapping place will customize your map to get the best out of these enhancements. This type of remapping session will typically cost more though.
Glad to hear you're enjoying your remapped car. From what I recall, most maps for the HDi 110 tend to push towards the 130-140 HP mark, and lump on a reasonable amount of extra torque across the rev range too, so your car is probably behaving more like a standard 2.2 HDi at the moment.

the exhaust and the outside temperature being -2.
Well done, hope it suits the car well, you should get more MPG's when you've finished 'playing' with it
Let it be said that it is a brave man who taketh away the ECU data from a Peugeot and sits nervously in 'no mans land' whilst the new data is being written
Cars in my care:
2021 Kia Spottage 1.6 Pez Turbo Dual Clutch Gearbox Trickery
2013 Renner Twingo - donkey work
its not as bad knowing what to expect ie the fans and airbag light still there is a nervous minuite or so when that red line moves across and your softly speaking to the computer motivational words.
but i hope the pictures/screenshots are helpful for anyone looking to do the same thing.
about the computer im using its the old dell i wiped it and reinstalled windows last week it boots up nearly as quick as the macbook and after an initial bit of problems with service pack one all the upgrading to sp2 and then 3 a lot of drivers had to be installed, but it asks for something to install a base station device whats the driver for this, i see a list of drivers on the dell website just not sure what cures this message

Yes. While it's always challenging in terms of sphincter control, it does get easier with practice.
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)

Its been a week now, the car has not blown up, spontaneously combusted or split in the middle.
There isn't really a problem with smoke, it was a cold morning and a neighbour started their 2 year old jetta and it produced much more smoke than the 406, which didn't actually smoke at all this morning.
The clutch doesn't like having a foot resting on it, i just have a bad habit or doing that and then the car just revs up without moving quicker, but then taking the foot off the clutch fully solves that issue.
Id love to get it to a rolling road now to see what the power is like.
But if its this addicting on the 2.0 hdi, the next car will definatley be a 2.2 coupe.
Hi, does anyone know if the galetto 1260 supports the 3.0 v6 coupe, I cant see my car in the drop down lists and I want to back up my ecu.
Thanks, Chris.
I got the cables thru the post yesterday but was in Sutton CF until this afternoon, when I got back I nervously plugged in the connectors etc but it won't read the ecu :-( I get
DATA READING
Start data reading...errore data0
Any ideas
I'm thinking I've got a dodgy cable, I also tried on the zafira much the same result

If you cant find the bright side to life -- Polish the dull side
Is the LED on the plug lit - should come on as soonas you plug into the car, if not look for a fuse gone or other fault robbing the car's diag socket of power.
If you start the software without plugging Galletto into your laptop, you should get a suitable error message, (& not wehn it's plugged in).
USB driver problem also possible - try any other computer?
