exhaust result!

Post by omega »

well the exhaust started sounding a bit noisey yesterday so had a quick look and the middle section is blowing on the front box just after the cat on my 2.1 diesel.i think this has a rubbish mounting systemas the only support at the front is where the front pipe bolts onto the manifold! luckly i have a donner car here so the plan was to jack it up and get it off,now i hate exhausts at the best of times and then this morning it was raining so even less inclined to do the job.so had a think about (and a brew] and i rembered that i had the center section replaced at a garage and it had a warranty on it.now i couldnt remember when it was done so thought i might as well go down and see what happened, turnes out it had a 2 year warranty on it that runs out in.............................................................................................................................................................................................................................
march! :cheesy: :cheesy: :cheesy:
so they changed it free of charge so a bit of a result
the only thing iam a bit annoyed with is that this exhaust is only under warranty till march and not 2 years from the day it was fitted.
so is this right? i know they where a bit cheesed off as the one they replaced it with cost them more money.

hi there yes i believe this is correct as the warrenty runs from the original purchase date .which is included in the cost price .
if however you paid for an extended warrenty then no as you,ve paid for that extention the extention continues hope this helps .

I wouldn't worry too much about it mate. The old one nearly lasted the 2 years anyway & was probably faulty, but you've now got a new one that should at least last another 2 years at worst anyway.

Good result there!

I had the same with Apple.
I bought an iPod, failed 9 months after I had it.
Got a second one under warrenty, failed after 2 months.
Got a third one under warrenty which failed about 18 months after the initial purchase.

Had to get trading standards involved who basically said any product must be of a certain degree of durability.

Apple soon sent me a new iPod :D
