When you say "part of a 4 piece" i assume you have everything except the flywheel? The friction plate that goes with a DMF will not have springs in it and the friction plate for the solid flywheel will have springs so it will not be suitable to go with a DMF.I thought the part number for a 110 DMF was 0532.LO?

yes i have everything but the flywheel, but that will be here 2moro or wed.the dmf i have ordered is a peugeot part.yes the clutch i have here with me has got springs around the plate.so are you 100% sure this will not fit grasmere cause i need to get 1 for the weekend.thanksgrasmere59 wrote:When you say "part of a 4 piece" i assume you have everything except the flywheel? Re: need advice on clutch please.
I'm not 100% sure but the idea of the DMF is to take up the torque from the diesel motor and therfore no need for the springs in the friction plate as there already in the DMF,if you have springs in the friction plate and in the DMF i could see a lot of slack that you wouldn't need which might cause juddering,if you look at the pics on ebay etc for clutch kits with a DMF the friction plates don't have springs in them.Someone on the forum might know better than me but thats what i reckon.I think the clutch you need is 2052FO.

Ithink Grasmere59 is right,
idont think the plates for the Dmf'd ones have springs Not that ive seen anyway.
Edit: Jasper5 the chap to ask,

Re: need advice on clutch please.
The clutch plate on my 407 with DMF did not have springs set around the middle hub.
The DMF has springs built into it rotational to take up the shock of the clutch engaging.

Why don't you go down the solid flywheel route and keep the clutch you already have,it'll be cheaper than a DMF,my car has got a solid flywheel and it seems o.k. up to now.

I have recently replaced my clutch with a solid flywheel convertion kit , it was a valeo one, i'm very happy with it as of now ... i bought it on ebay it's simply a lot more cheaper than what they were asking for it here ... just to guive you an idea they asked 500 and 600 +/- for one, and in ebay i got one for 340 EUR including postage +/-.
Really convert that into solid flywheel
