They quoted me lots cheaper, but paperwork said money up front
Only afterwards did I find out from Gary they do instalments

Won't forget this year as over £700 to insure a 406 when i'm 42, and have full NCB and not in a silly area is crazy
£700 ? how does that work . im 27 years old with 6 years NCB and paying £539 premium (add APR% onto that for paying the finance company monthly payments)

i really would love to know how these insurance companys work. when one can give you a £539 quote yet another for exactly the same thing comes in at £1800 :? :? :? :? :?
"If" I insured a boggo 406 110 HDi then i'd be looking at less than £400
I got loaded for :
the leather
the spoiler
the wheels
strut brace blah blah blah

Personally I think they're taking the preverbial - Direct Line if you're interested ( although I fear this may send Highlander off on one lol )
You Might be best off contacting Tim & chris knott then,
they dont hit hard on Modified cars,

Admiral were best with me when I first got the Coupe. Their renewal was cheaper than everyone elses, even after I declared mods for the car, so I stuck with them.

I was insured with Admiral for years in an Almera GTI even with a couple of mods... They were stupidly cheap! but for some reason why are stupidly expensive (for me) now... odd!

My son has a nice BMW 318i ES, and decided to economise so bought a 406 Rapier estate. Bit ratty but will tidy up, phoned his insurance who quoted 36 quid less than his Beemer. £850. Other brokers coming out at 1300. One said it's because of the engine size, so the 406 is 2 litre same as the beemer, 90 bhp against 138????????????????
Ridiculous. So how come a 307 2.0 hdi 90, same engine is only £600?
Another broker said it was because of the luggage capacity and it turns dangerous when fully loaded.
In truth I think the insurance ratings are just plain wrong. Good job he didn't go for the 110 beast.
1999 406 HDi 2.0 110 GTX Estate. 48k when bought, now 150K. Second owner, I've covered over 100k in it.
Clutch changed @110k, bottom pulley changed, cam belt changed, EGR blanked, cat removed, front springs changed.

Looked at that Lozz but they'll only insure standard cars

Had Admiral ring me this morning ( think on back of the three comparison sites I used at the weekend)
Best they could do with credit fees and everything is £692 but with £100 XS
Others have been cheaper but with £350 XS which I don't fancy
Oh and admiral said I'd have to remove strut brace
I said its for safety not performance but he said their system red flagged it
