Hello from Sweden!

Post by NorthSwede »

Hello from a snowy Sweden!
I was first thinking of buying a Citroen C5 but then i discovered this forum.
And i must say that i am impressed by the all the useful information that i have found here, and the incredible knowledge that many forum members have!
So now i have definitely decided to buy a 406 HDI instead of a C5..
Have lexia/PP2000..
but no 406. Yet...

Thanks everyone.
Volvo?
I've had a couple of volvo.
Nice cars (2002 -), but to pay almost three times as much compared to a well mantained 406 HDI?
No, not worth it...
Ok, the D5 engine is a gem, but the 406 is comfort-wise just as nice.

Yep i have noticed that.. :cheesy:
I've had volvo 240, V40 2.0 and a V70 D5.
NIce cars.. the 240 was like a tractor, no matter what happened with it, you could fix everything with a normal toolbox.
The V40 was a bit too small for my needs, and the V70 too thirsty. The sluggish 6-speed automatic made it thirsty like a camel.
I think a 406 HDI in a good condition is super value for the money, good mileage, quiet and the suspension is comfortable.
Not like a C5 though, but comfortable enough for our terrible roads in Sweden.

Hello back from Sweden via England.
Im also a halfconvert from BMW (half because i still consider BMW no1 for me). 406 is a nice car, cheap to get here in sweden, cheap to drive, have sicknesses as every car has and especially french cars. But PeggySue has a special charm. Drive myself a 2003 406 2.2 hdi 133(180hp). Or drive... im right now repairing it but soon i will drive the french lady again ;)
