I see this coming up in the lidl magazine:
http://www.lidl-ni.co.uk/cps/rde/xchg/l ... _19626.htm
are these things any good at cleaning round the engine bay, can they be used to clean carpets?

Got a little one like that and it's cracking on alloy wheels and car mats.

They are great around cookers and also tiles but once my one i got got from aldi broke i found a bottle of flash bleach (or asda own brand) works just aswell on tile grout and a lot less elbow grease... just spray and leave JOB DONE!!

Big socket set
http://www.lidl-ni.co.uk/cps/rde/xchg/l ... _19568.htm
Though it might be made of soft materials, I've had chep ratchets break. Best is Halfrauds Professional as SnapOn makes them.
Some Longjohns
http://www.lidl-ni.co.uk/cps/rde/xchg/l ... _19547.htm
Effectively minimises risk of unpleasant body odour

Re: Steam Cleaner in Lidl
More likely hard, brittle materials... I wouldn't risk using something like that for anything involving more torque than you'd put on a wooden spoon while mixing a cake...sirwiggum wrote:Big socket set

<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang

Re: Steam Cleaner in Lidl
the problem with lidls sockets is they are 6 point so the heads of the bolts your undoing would round very quick the 12 point ones claim to turn the nut on the flats to avoid this problem.
but they are made of chrome vandium the same as tengs sockets so the sockets themselves should be fairly durable, some of lidls tools are fairly decent.

Them rotary tools are a good job for sanding if a little small, is sanding disks any good?
Re: Steam Cleaner in Lidl
Farmer pug you shouldnt need to sand new plasterwork .Belt sanders are extremely heavy a bit too much for sanding walls .The orbital sander made by Parkside are monsters wih a large pads making it a doddle for smoothing timber and rough walls I know because I was given one and its the best Ive ever had .
1997 406 2.0 petrol estate lx..D8.............OH dear where does this nut go?
Re: Steam Cleaner in Lidl
If the belt falls off then it probably isnt running straight..... theres a knack to getting them right!
