I've always had a pair knocking about in the caravan but they aint the best so threw them a few weeks back, i'm looking for a new set (not to expensive) but not sure how you work the spec out, i remember having an old pair of 10x50 they were ok but i'd like to go better i see a cheap 30x60 pair on ebay they look ok but would they be any better?

The ones in your link will be very poor.

If you want clear then you need a big outer lens with a small magnificatiuon, eg, .....

8x40 or 7x50.

8x magnification 40mm object (outer) lens will give a sharp, bright image, as will 7x50.

30x60 will mean they are heavy, dull, and hard to keep still to view anything as the higher the magnification the more wobble you will get.

I was hoping for a knowledgable reply like that, now i know how it works cheers i'm quite partial to a spot of errmm bird watching while on me hols. :supafrisk:

My work is beside the docks, so we have a pair of Lizars 8x40 binoculars floating round the windowsills to watch the boats come in.

You can see whats on the big TV on the Golden Princess!
