Tesco Value and Asda Smart Price products are on the shelves. They sell in droves, but I can't think of a single item from either brand which I wouldn't call utter crap!
<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang

isnt that bad for Lucas pumps tho?

Stevie do you know if Dci engines will be ok on bio ?
Why would it bad for the pump?

I've yet to find a diesel that doesn't run better on bio.

Yes, because you have a TD. No modern diesel will run very well on biodiesel, they are made for max 30% quantities. Biodiesel does not lubricate like normal diesel and using biodiesel in the long run will damage the HP pump

No modern diesel will run well on biodiesel? fine, whatever. I'll keep the dirt cheap fuel to myself.

SOrry, I did not mean they do not run well, what I wanted to say is that it's not healty for the engine. I work sometimes for a guy that sells injectors extractors and other equipment for injector specialists. Thus I get to go from workshop to workshop with him, and I can assure you I know what a constant use of biodiesel produces inside an injector and its well, and what wear causes to the fuel pump. Trust me. If you plan to use the car for say 20000km and then sell it it's ok (well, not morally), but if it's a keeper... watch out.

I bought a bottle of Wynns Diesel treatment. It's a trade product.
You take the car out and get it upto tempreture.
You remove the diesel filter, empty the enclosure, fit the new filter and fill the filter housing with the treatment and then go thrash the living daylights out of it.
Made a fantastic difference to my 406 and now I put Millers Eco Max in with the diesel just to keep the injectors clean.

Maybe it was Diesel Clean 3? Because I heard that it's exactly the same stuff I used under the brand name GreenStuff and made a huge difference.
