Have alook at the top corner of the screen,
also lift bonnet in the corners there shouid be Drains, sometimes they get full of leaves block up and water finds its wayinto the foot wells,
id drain the sills off when you get a dry day, might involve a fine drill bit that tho, spray some wax oil in or something stop them rusting up

Re: Puddle in foot well help
the sunroof drain pipes, take off the a pillar pipes and the drain pipes become very obvious they are black and look like a garden hose, they go down the length of the a pillar, pull the pipe out where it goes in at the bulk head, then the end of the pipe can be cleaned out, the end separates off the pipe itself and i cleaned it in warm soapy water, while its off get a kettle of warm water, and pour it slowly in the corners of the sunroof to get the water down the drain pipes, hold the pipes so they go out of the car. That should clean out the pipes, reattach the end, then the fiddly bit it pushing it back into the bulkhead but its possible and make sure its in tight.
As for the cills at the jacking points it should be possible to put a flathead screwdriver up in them, push it up then park the car on a tilt the water should drain out, then try and get waxoyl in to the cill by taking off the wheel arch liners at the front then there is a plug, it comes off and the waxoyl can be sprayed up there, i should actually spray the inside of my cills soon.

Re: Puddle in foot well help
I don't think the sunroof and cills are related, what causes the sill to leak is the seal along the cill at the bottom of the doors, if the sealant behind it fails i think water gets in at the holes and leaks into the cill but peugeot must have expected a bit to happen thats why the drain holes are there but they block up easy and may need to be opened up to let the water drain.
Where exactly is the expanding foam substance located?

park the car the oposite way to what you normaly park it,
perhaps on a slant so the water runs to the oposite side,
ihad acar once where igot drenched as soon as iset off -if it had been parked on a curb drivers side,
was late for work afew times, had to go home to get dried off
ihate sunroofs, luckily every car ive had up to now didnt have one,

If u take the door strip plastic panel off were the have spot welded 2 bits of metal to each other there is a little hole that were it is right in the corner easy way to explain its bout 4 inches down from the bottom door hinge but on the inside of the car it's only a small hole

Re: Puddle in foot well help
Both my estates o/s sills filled with water, when i braked or accelerated you could hear a sloshing noise but only on the o/s.On my old Rapier estate i drilled a small hole in the front of the sill to let the water out as i couldn't for the life of me how it was getting in(no sunroof). My drivewway is steep and i usually back the car up but that is when the sill fills up.With my exec(with sunroof) i just park it the other way round when heavy rain is forecast and it runs out of the back of the sill,i'm at a loss as to where the water gets in the sill especially as both cars do it but only the o/s

Re: Puddle in foot well help
you can always get a shotgun and create a new drain hole top gear style
The sunroof its hard to justify it, it leaks and doesn't cool the car down, if parked under a tree when open you find the car full of leaves and bugs. But despite that i still like having one in the car they brighten the inside up. A lot of downsides for one very minute and subjective positive.

Ah yes i think thats the yellow block of foam in the door, thats used as sound insulation when its new it should be a neat rectangle and it should stay like that but some may crumble away thats whats possibly the foam. This hole on the door should be the doors drain hole, there is one there and one near the other edge of the door, they need to be clear as the car could flood but it would take a while and you would notice the sloshy doors. Make sure they are clean, but also the plastic sealant sheet behind the door, peugeot made the mistake of making these essential for keeping the water out, on other cars you can rip them out and throw them away but on the 406 they need to be there to stop the water leaking in through the doors, its best to seal around the sheets with something like tiger seal that means the sealing sheets will work effectively.

if your drilling the sills, youd be best drilling where Mr mot tester carnt see!
youd be best taking wheel arch liner off and have alook for the drain plug fp mentioned,
