Yep they tied up a while back, presumably for PSA diesel engines and GM 4x4 and hybrid/electric technology.

Car manufacturers have to do this these days to survive. They have to share platforms, engines and have their fingers in many pies

Must've been a shared dealership.

But Citroen have never had traditional ties with Vauxhall. They were owned by Michelin and once owned Maserati, Peugeot owned since the late 70s.

I don't think its a bad thing if peugeot give gm access to the HDi engines, but I'm not a huge fan of GM

Our local Ford dealer used to do Citroen parts & service - the Citroen service department was basically one man who used to work in the local Citroen delaership before it became a Mitsubishi dealer!

Funnily enough though, they all seem to share parts with one another at some point. The Peugeot 4007/ Citroen C-crosser is basically a Mitsubishi Outlander, the Mitsubishi GDi engines found there way into the Volvo S/V40s, Suzuki & Ford have both used HDi engines, while Renaults & Nissans have been sharing for years now. Meanwhile VW have always been the sluts of the car world, putting it about all over the place...

Yes so many parts are similar - even Ford and Citreon TDCi / HDi are basically similar / the same, should share many parts.

Volvo also used Renault engines, Mitsubishi use VW TDi in the Lancers, Suzuki used the HDi at some point.

Cross pollination everywhere!

How similar is the ford and peugeot diesel engines. In the 1990s was the ford 1.8 as seen in the escort van a ford engine or a half peugeot effort? What about the newer ford engines, sometimes fords have more hp than the same sized peugeot diesel.
