D8 Cruise Control Retrofit

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Yes I think it's to disable the alarm. My car's not fitted with an alarm, even though there is a blue connector to attach to that switch. I'm guessing it will do nothing at all :)

Did you have success in the end?
I am seriously considering of doing this but am thinking the easier option maybe to go for an after-market kit but id prefer to go for the original

I have a 406 Mk 1 (D8) 1.9DT 1996

I did not, the Lucas ECU in my car doesn't appear to have the cruise firmware running, and reflashing it is basically impossible.

The 1.9 doesn't have the same fly-by-wire system as the 2.1, so it's almost certainly not going to be possible I'm afraid!

Oki thanks

That makes my decisin to go for a goldcruise retrofit using the GC30(AP300) or GC55 (AP550) and the GC5/CM25 command stalk.
I have had a quoyte for 300-350 pounds
seems relatively easy to fit.

Do you have a wiring diagram for the cruise control...i was thinking of maybe using the Peugeot command stalk and activation switch as I have the wiring in place and i was just going to splice that comman stalk into the retofit...but i was hoping to get a clear picture of the wiring diagram (the one on the site is not so clear to read closely)

thanks

so wat you are saying is even if i fit the loom i got from a scrap yard with the cruise pins for the ecu it wont work

It's hard to say midsmike - as far as I know nobody else has tried this, so I can't be sure that all 2.1s are like this, or I haven't done something wrong.

I would think that you would have to have it plugged into PP2000 to have it activated on the ECU.

I wanted to fit cruise to my D8 1.9TD.

I explored the option of using the 3.0 V6 system and making a setup so the actuator simply pulled on the throttle arm of the fuel pump.

can you repost the link so we can loom at the diagram...the one showing on the post is too blurred to read some of the detail

I am getting a Goldcruise aftermarket cruise kit to fit to my D8 but was hoping to use the stalk and engament switch as my "command module" for which i needed a clear circuit diagram.
I now have 2 or 3 eahc with a slightly different numbering for the stalk! but ill work on that!

re the stalk, the follwoing wires come out of it

1 Green
2 Red
3 Blue
4 Yellow
5 Black

trying to know what eahc is.

I see that 1,2,4 come out of one side of the stalk, and 3 and 5 come out of the other
if anyone knows please post

thanks

Okay

i have finally got round to try to fit my aftermarket goldcruise cruise control

checking what wiring i have, i have the on/off switch wiring on the lower instrument panel!!! But cant find anything else
anyway here is a useful link for cruise control in particular the on/off switch wiring

http://www.peugeotforums.com/forums/mai ... %5D-28067/

Still working out how to use the peugeot original command stalk and then ill add a memory button device from goldcruise for my memory functions!

any more thoughts greatly appeciated

For the wires coming from the command stalk

3 and 5 are the wires which increase/decrease speed
1 and 2 are the live feeds from pin 2 of the engagement switch and 4 is the suspend cruise
