They are all fake, the real ones cost about £1000, any of the £100 ones are described as "chinese clones" but hey they still do the same job you can still find out if the airbag light is on because of a loose wire, and you can still use them to vin decode the radio.

That's a posh up-market version you've found there lozz, (with mine they supplied the Pug/Cistern sticker loose, you have to stick it on yourself)!

Still, as Frank says, does the job. 8)

My cousin got a clip off ebay but its no where near as easy to use as pp2000, it just doesn't make sense, with pp2000 anyone can fiddle away at the options and quickly get the hang of it, clip isn't just as handy.
Also on my old dell i went to install the clip software but did it without installing the crack file first and now I've locked my laptop and it seems i need to do a clean install of XP. Thats why its better to use an old laptop.

Unfortunatley not it won't work on renaults, I've tried it  to no avail.
If you do get a clip you can ask on here I've used it to diagnose a dead airbag ecu and loose wires under the seat. The renault forums are ok for advice.

I thought i could have set options with it but according to renault forums (who don't seem to praise the cloned units) they say the cloned ones can't reprogram things they can only read faults, and i had a go with it to turn off the service interval display in my cousins traffic and there was no options to do such a thing whereas in pp2000 its hard to miss it. There is no vin decoding, or any other options of that sort.

You can reset the service intervals via the dash, tricky but do-able,
everything else seems to involve buying /hiring this clip thing, it be cheaper to get the Mainstealer do it than buying one me thinks,

Having used the one my cousin bought (i have to use it for him since he doesn't have a laptop to put the software on) i don't think they are worth the money, if someone close has one they are ok for reading a fault, but they have such a lack of features and are tricky to operate its hard to justify the price. Wheras pp2000 when used on a peugeot can do so many more things and its very intuitive to use, and the software is much easier to install.

Resetting the service interval in my cousins van was a weird one i think it went something like press down the brake and clutch pedal, turn on ignition hold both in, wait 10 seconds, pump the pedal 5 times press the accelerator pedal 5 times, it was a complete faff, if renault wanted its owners to record them playing twister and send in the video it would be an easier way to reset the service light :cheesy:

The link you provided says sagem, sagem makes the type b display (the ordinary 2 button one) the sat nav one is made by siemens. So the germans are to blame for the pixelation issue with our sat nav screens. although whats interesting about your link is that it must be possible to change the ribbons, if it is, i wonder how its done.
