Does anyone out there collect coins and notes?
I have a couple of Jack Nicklaus £5ers, a Tom Morris £5er and a Scottish Parliament £1 note all from RBS.
Then a couple of George Best £5ers from Ulster Bank (RBS).
I used to have an old 3p, a big 5p and an old penny, but goodness knows where they've went to.
Keep an eye on my change, any new 20p with the old back on it without a date is worth a couple of bob.
I've heard that some 1992 10ps and 1981 2ps may be worth a bit too?
Anyone into this?

I did get told by one of the check out girls at tesco that they check all the 20p coins for the missing date as they sell for thousands, not sure how true that is but I always check my change.

Re: Notes and shrapnel
I got a my "picture" Scottish notes (Nicklaus/Tom Morris/Sco. Parliament) when working in a petrol station (looking for crisp barely used ones and substituting my own money of course, I'm no tea leaf) and was thinking that, if I still worked there I'd be in checking all the 20ps!gumby6371 wrote:I did get told by one of the check out girls at tesco that they check all the 20p coins for the missing date as they sell for thousands, not sure how true that is but I always check my change.
Just missed out on one of those 20ps on ebay got outbid by a last second sniper by 20p funnily enough, though I only bid a £1 as the photo wasn't that detailed. Some of them are asking crazy money.
Found a 1992 10p in the wallet, but don't know what to look for in these, and have a whole jar of 1ps and 2ps in the house if the 2p thing is true.

I kept hold of a good amount of irish punts around the time of the euro coming in, as well as some spanish coins must have been about 7 when i was in spain last some of the coins have holes in them and would do a good job as a washer if your stuck
.
I mind spending a while looking for a dateless 20p they are worth about £50 i think, none ever turned up.

Some of the puntage coinage is worth a wee bit now too.
And it looks like the Greeks will be looking to buy their old coins back soon....
