new pug mods please

Post by craigtd »

Ok, here we are on the best pug web site around, its nice to see everyone helping everyone out and beleave me you get more help on here than going to your local pug dealer,i no that for a fact as i used to work for pug as a motor tech when 407,s were new lol, BUT, what i would like to see on here is some of the newer pugs that have been converted into something better like what we used to do with the 205s/306s/405s, now im not on about putting a set of wheels on lol i would like to see some big mods like engine swaps in 407s or big turbo jobs in 1007s , ive not long bought a 306 1.8cc sedan auto (cos i felt sorry for it lol) and i will be doing something with it but if my partner has anything to do with it it Will be a one off and a show winner, but that will take some time lol.

so please feel free to tell or show us all whats going on with the new bread of pugs :?

the problem with the new breed of pugs is how much electronics they have so doing something like putting a 2.7hdi into a 406 would require a lot of electrical work.

That's nice that! Why couldn't they have made the 407 look like that?

Very nice, someone not so long ago did ask about putting a 6spd box onto a 406 HDi which would be interesting.
The rear lights of the 406 why doesn't any company make a darker set, as standard they just look like a set of big brake lights the d8 was better with the frosted bit at the top and the brake lights at the bottom.

The police wouldn't like it too much.
The d9 rear lights are nice with the strip of body coloured plastic but i don't like that the top and bottom is red whereas in the older d8 lights the top was grey/black and the bottom was red.

i wonder if anyone has tried to 4 wheel drive a 406 with a cosworth set up or a v6/v8 set up, it would be a big job but i think it would have great results,i did an old hatch back chevet years ago with a petrol ford transit engine as they are low compression so it was easy to fit the turbo running low boost,i used a opel manta gte back axle and prop, the prop had to be cut and joint to the transit prop and ballanced,i also ran the fuel injection system of the 2.0l efi granarda, and to finish the job i put the HSR body kit on it, i used to get some strange looks when the dump valve whent off and not alot could tutch it off the lights at the time, the good old days eh. :P

You can buy engine mount adaptors on eBay to fit a 3.0 V6 petrol lump in place of an XU/XUD engine.

I always fancied the 2.7HDI idea, but as always it comes down to money

Id like to try a v6 hdi in the old 505, it would probably be just as economical as the old 2.5 diesel in it at the moment.

How would you display Anti Pollution Fault in a 505?

make it misfire when the ecu wants to say antipollution fault so instead of the BEEP, the 505 would
go BANG. another option would be a mercedes 190e cosworth engine in the 505, the 505 would still be bombproof but quick aswell
