Hang on a minute

Post by scotty73 »

Few nights ago someone half inched my moulding off my front n/s wing so today had a look on servicebox and found this part number 8544 H1
Phoned Peugeot they gave me the same number priced at £3.49 plus vat.
Just had a quick shufty on ebay and a seller is selling what looks like the same part for the estate at £6.46
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PEUGEOT-406-E ... 5894057584
I'd spend more than that in diesel

And the saloon one at £3.20
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PEUGEOT-406-S ... 20c5ab2491

Correct me if i'm wrong here but these are the same right?

Yes but you'd look at it all the time, knowing it was off an estate and not a saloon :D

ridiculous. The front wings and all associated bits are interchangable (the rear doors aren't, I found). Not like they're off a coupe or d8/d9.

I'll also be happy knowing that i have saved a couple of quid by searching 406 wing and not 406 estate wing... If i searched estate i wouldn't have seen the cheaper saloon one.

By strange coincidence, I went into the local pug dealers last Saturday to order a 8544H1, (which is the part no. wot Service Ballcocks returned when asked about a NSF wing moulding for a 406 estate), £2.99 + VAT.

This very morn, I received a text advising it was ready for collection.

I did not now there was a sidetrim with/without chrome option!

Any pics of how it looks without them? To be honest I had to check a couple of pics of mine to see if I had them or not :supafrisk:

I recall seeing somewhere 406s with the repeater on the front wing trim instead than over it. Possible?

Oh really? I really liked the idea, they should have kept it like that on the D9s too!

Got a txt from the Pug dealer, Wednesday morning, to say it had arrived. Picked it up this morning for £3.54 inc vat. 8)

Unsurprisingly, it's a tad less weathered than the rest, but still looks better than the hole it covers. :)
