The siemens housing is abit better than the Bosch housing.
The siemens housing has a seperate centre which allows you to turn the outer edge to undo it without moving the middle/pipes.

Even better: you can buy the Siemens housing by separate parts, with the bosch you have to buy the whole box and that's 80+£!

Take care:
Siemens ECU does not mean Mahle housing and Bosch does not mean Bosch housing.

The ECU and the fuel filter are not connected. The one shown in the picture above is the more recent housing, from Mahle, starting from 9002 build code cars.
<9001 cars have the Bosch housing. This is valid for the 2.2HDi but similar stuff can be obtained from SB for the other models.

A mhale filter went into my car, and the diagram is identical to the filter, I've looked in the video to check they are the same.
But i do remember someone on here needed the fuel filter housing off the old 406 i broke, it had a different setup, to open it required a socket in the middle it wasn't as good, and i believe prone to sticking shut.

Agree with that - my 99(T) Xsara had the design with the hexagon-shaped bit in the middle, which couldn't be undone after I let some gorilla change the filter. (it was fine the first time when I did it meself).

Dogmobile's got the Mahle job as the pics, (9471 FWIW).

About them fuel lines, how are they removed, trying to pry off the coloured clips that hold them in place seems impossible is there a special tool required?
