Changed the rear top links this morning, first one was a piece of cake, second one was a nightmare, ended up taking down to the local garage where it took them seconds to wizz off the ball joint with there air gun. As I've got the drop links front and rear to change I was thinking about getting a cordless impact driver, has anyone got one and are they as good as the air guns?
Cheers
Dan

the back ones are easy to remove . if you take of the inner bolt off 1st them turn round the link so its facing outwards away from the car. then grab hold of it and force it upwards.
this traps the ball joint inside. works everytime for me. if you have a mate that would be better because u could get full force on puching it up while u undo the bottom nut.
personally i wouldnt bother with impact driver for jobs like this.

ive got a sealey 24v jobby for racing and things and it works a treat! £80 off the bay - retail at a couple of hundred normally!
use it on wheel nuts, sprockets the lot!

Cheers guys, I think as I'm going to be doing all the links/bushes over the next week I'm going to invest in one. I'd rather have it and not need it that need it and not have it

The sealey or clarke ones seem to get good reviews on amazon, car mechanics etc. I tried a miliwaukee 18v thing a tyre fitters had, there was as much power in it as the pneumatic ones and it was very easy to use, but it was also quite pricey.
