A hangover from the days when mk2 Escorts were everywhere and could be picked up for pennies?

And that they also had a bit of a rallying heritage.

Theres plenty companies now that supply "new" mk2 Escort parts. On RPM it showed an in-car view, the had a digital speedo on it.

You don't see many Mantas (or Kaddetts/Chevettes) rallying anymore. Or Sierras used to be popular too.

Nice video Lozz.

The Titanic quarter special stage about 1.35, 4.20 and 5.20 in are just down the road from my work. All used to be shipyard, now sitting as wasteland. This half they've converted to offices and that, and a Titanic museum down the end of the road.

The dual carraigeway special stage section is from Lisburn, a pretend city near Belfast.

Video of the Fubaru is here

The wheelbase looks elongated, almost Citroen-like with rear wheels right on the corners. Must help with handling too.

There's a guy i'm following on facef**k and he's took an M5 shortened the wheelbase and grated an Opel Ascona shell onto it
Before that he had an M3 powered Manta

Now that would be cool.
I've always preferred the look of the Ascona to the mk1 Cavalier.

I'm minded of the 406 coupe Ferrari bodyshells too. An HDi Ferrari anyone?

After driving the Octavia last week (and seeing 50mpg for the first time in years) I've been keeping an eye out for Skodas

:cheesy: :cheesy:

I doubt you would get 50mpg from that, but whack a tdi in the back and it could get 70mpg :cheesy:

50mpg. Of oil :D

Struggle to get 50mph too I'd say.

Haven't seen a rear engineed Skoda in years, earliest thats about now is the Felicias. Passed my test in one, I mind it having quite heavy steering at low speed and the overall shape put me in mind of a Volvo 340.

They were extremely sore on petrol i remember my mums 1.3 favorit, the car was well serviced and in tune but it drank more fuel than a lorry.

I mind the old BX diesels had a lot of plastic panels and were very light, got a great MPG from their XUDs.
Wouldn't want to crash one mind...
