Anyone on here worked on renaults?

as anyone on here worked on Renaults?

got a new wishbone to fit on the laguna, started dismantling it all today
one of the bolts wont come out, and idont fancy lowering both sides of the subframe,
wouid iget away with just lowring one side?

was going to chop the top off the bolt but then id have to travel 38miles to get another one,

if anyone gets offerd the job of replacing a wishbone on alaguna walk away if the bolts are not in upside down

A few ppl I no have said never to work on them headlight bulbs are a pain in the arse on them Reno was charging my xs old man silly money coz they said the bumper had to come off

That the one near the gearbox?

Drop the subframe on that side and undo gearbox mounting and lift it up if still not enough room....it's the same job on the Mondeos, I always cut off the bolt head....maybe a Mondeo bolt might fit? Most car shops sell those Mondeo bolts.

That the one near the gearbox?

Drop the subframe on that side and undo gearbox mounting and lift it up if still not enough room....it's the same job on the Mondeos, I always cut off the bolt head....maybe a Mondeo bolt might fit? Most car shops sell those Mondeo bolts.

its the n/s one im changing so yes gearbox end,
the set up is simalar to the mondeo, but its alot harder, you carnt get a socket in at the bolts no room,
the bolt under the drive shaft you can get at, but the one on the other side theres no way at it , carnt get the nut off the bolt theres like a clip on it some sort of locking c clip, dont know wether just to tap that off with a hammer and chizzel or wether its a welded on thing,

its got me puzzled .

The bulbs on the lags are just like the 406 to change, not too bad

the renault megs and stuff you take wheel off and remove aplastic cap to get at the bulbs, no bumper removal needed,

I recently took off the inlet manifold on the clio it was fairly straightforward the worst bit was the inverted torx sockets that i needed to use to take the top bolts out with, the throttle body was easy to clean, also got to the crankcase breather pipe and cleaned it out. No more engine management light or cutting out.

There a stupid desighn of an engine, theres more plastic on them then metal'

takes 20mins to get the plastic off to actualy get at the engine, Abeit like de-shelling a lobster,
cambelt changes on them are fun

The only person iknow that might have one, is based at Bury,
only thing is if he has one it will be out of a Taxi no doubt, so it wont be a low mileage box,

edit, imissed the 206 part, iwas thinking 406

Ring star breakers at bury mate, or Tile street

bury is about the best place ican think of for gearboxes, everywhere else seems to pick a page number out of the yellow pages for the price

The entire top of them is plastic, and of the variety that will go brittle and crack eventually, the whole inlet manifold is plastic you can imagine some man at renault going mad because he didnt make the exhaust manifold from plastic aswell

once all that plastic is off tho, ithink there easy to work on, altho iwont work on them if ican help it

Thankfully its not got any of that sort of problem, although at the moment its on 70k miles and i don't have a clue when the timing belt was changed, if it goes bang at least thats one reason to get a panda to replace it.

The timing belt is easy to do,
hardest part is getting all the plastic off, 2hr job taking your time
