The clutch is slowly slipping when booting it, so that will need changing soon. The bottom mount is, I believe, gone, so that needs changing by a garage. Preferably at the same time as the clutch. Would I be better off replacing the flywheel with a solid one? Don't know. And it's coming up to a cam-belt renewal. (Jasper - any chance of you driving down to Bristol for a nice job? 
)But the more immediate issue is... Last week, on the motorway, the engine developed a lovely sports car noise - helped by the rear exhaust falling off. It has completely rusted through and the flange which connects to the mid-section of the exhaust just perished.
Not to worry - eBay and £42 later, a new box was fitted. Only when I was fitting it, I noticed that the flange bit on the mid-section exhaust was also on its way out. I give it a few months till that completely rusts through and falls off. I was wondering if there's a way to fix that? The rest of the mid-section looks OK and still has some life in it, so it would be a shame to through the whole thing away because of a rusted join.
I've been looking for various methods of repairing that, but haven't really found anything. I guess I could get a screw-on flange from Bay of e and a section of a pipe along with a coupler. But all that together is already £30 - expensive when a new mid-section costs £45 all-in. Is it better to just replace it or is there a more economical method to fix it?
(Alternatively, there's a Ford Mundane option... but that's more expensive than the above!)
