Did you know that 5-series BMW drivers are granted special dispensation to under-take on the motorway. This is so that they can get to their important destination without being hindered.

There's talk of this being granted to 3-series' too.

I'm not sure if his 3 series is affected, but many 3 series, A4s and X5s are being recalled as they accidentally fitted a big magnet behind the front bumper.

Ok it has red seats to inject a little excitement to the interior but other than that nothing i wouldn't expect from a car costing 30k+

Still nodding off to sleep looking at the exterior. Zzzzzzzzzz

Yeah exactley.
You can take a basic sport, and give it the same spec as a luxury.
Or you can get a Luxury and give it sports suspension etc.
You can take a basic SE and make it better specced than a standard Luxury.

We were looking at a Luxury in red with cream leather, walnut wood, MSport suspension etc etc but it was about £2000 more than this.

I just can't make myself like it, nor out nor inside. o not misunderstand me, technically is possibly the best normal car money can buy, with high performance and driving pleasure and decent fual consumption, nice gearbox and all.
But I still would get an Alfa 159 over that for much much less money. Yes it's got less power, depreciates much faster, is less fuel efficient and reliable (but servicing costs less than half), the engine's probably a tad rougher (still good tho), the gearbox is less refined, it's less comfortable and it's FWD. But it's still a great handler and just look at it! And the interior!

The BMW is just not telling me anything. As others expressed it, it's just boring, even with the red interior it just looks out of place.
Not intending to offend, this is just my personal view and as I see it it is probably one of the best motors one could rationally buy, but...

I think that looks bloody brilliant 8)

I'd have one of those in a heartbeat.

They are confusing specs though, as are the Mini's. A friend of ours showed us her brand-new Bini Convertible and it was like...."that was extra"........."oh and that bit"........."and that thing".........."and those".....

I'm afraid it does nothing for me either, I'd feel a knob driving it too. :(

I swear half the 3-series drivers I get angrily cut-up by must be sitting behind the wheel feeling their own knobs, the way they drive.

It has come to my attention that at the age of 31 years and 10 months old, I have officially become a "Grumpy Old Man". Is there a cure for this condition available on the NHS?

Sam, I'm sure your Dad picked the "indicator stalks", "indicator lights", and "indicator light bulb" optional extras on the BMW, and that he is a safe and considerate driver.

The 3-series is a nice enough car, but it's not to my tastes. A new 640d or M6 would be pretty cool though 8)

Trust me, you'll spend most of your 30's being grumpy.

The only thing I don't like about BMW drivers are the 'wannabe' types that buy a 51 plate 318i and think they've 'made it' when they haven't really. I've got no problem with new BM's at all, I'd have one for the driving dynamics and quality rather than thinking of showing off in it.
