Sorry for the WL reference if you took it as a slur on your Welshyness it's just that I've been watching too much Road Wars and made a sweeping generalisation

I watched it last night and almost immediately logged onto Ex-policecarcentre dot com and spotted a tasty 530d estate with 99K miles for £8,900.00......ragged a bit but impeccably maintained no? always like the idea of an ex-policer for some reason :?

Aunti and Uncle had an Expolice Ford Escort Estate CL 1.8D. The lowest engine in the lowest model.
Like you say, they have been ragged but always maintained regardless of cost!
They bought it at 4-5 year old (Was on an R plate), they got rid of it 2 years ago.

Never once did it fail them! They serviced it themselves every 6k etc etc.
Had to scrap it due to tin worm in the end, the engine was still impeccable!
Same basic engine thats in my Mondeo 10 years later!

Know what you mean. My 24V Carlton & then 3.0 manual Omega, weren't ex-police, but both being white looked the part. They had a magical ability to empty the outside lane.

Or every single work van now has that red and yellow chevrons on the back too.
(me das last van did it was an ex-Eon mobile workshop)

I never got White Lightning, I did go through a phase of Frosty Jacks.
Mixed it with Buckfast one night. Sicky bad.
And that was in St Andrews too, where more champagne is drank per head than anywhere else in the country.

One St Patricks day in the halls of residence we'd been up early to watch the Australian GP and went down to the canteen at breakfast time clutching bottles of Frosty Jacks.
You've heard of the TV programme Breakfast with Frost - this was Breakfast with Frosty! :)
