Re: Another bargain!
Epic game. Should come with a warning - "This game will consume vast quantities of your time, and YOU WON'T CARE." The predecessor, Oblivion, was like that too, but Skyrim does it on a much grander scale.sirwiggum wrote:currently working my way through Skyrim.
I've completed pretty much all the quests other than the automatically-generated ones (yes, the game has a system built-in to automatically generate things for you to do (people to rescue, treasures to recover, bandit chiefs / dragons / giants for you to go and kill) so you will NEVER run out of game). The only quest lines I haven't done yet are the Thieves Guild quests and the Dark Brotherhood (assassin's guild) quests.

Re: Another bargain!
You mean the side quests that I am doing before finishing the main quest could go on forever?
I rarely get on the xbox these days, it could last for years!

Re: Another bargain!
Pretty much anything that appears in your journal under "Miscellaneous" is a result of the RadiantStory quest generation system. They all follow a typical format...:
Quest start:
You get approached by a courier who has a letter for you
or
You speak to an innkeeper who says the Jarl's men left this bounty notice
or
You speak to a random NPC somewhere who tells you they've lost a valuable item (through theft or through being nearly killed on an adenture)
Quest location:
A disused fort, cave, mine, or bandit camp
Quest rewards:
Training in certain skills
Gold
Rare item
Access to a dragon wall (where you will learn a new word of power)
If the quest has a specific name and doesn't appear in the "Miscellaneous" category, then the quest is a scripted quest that has been designed from start to finish by Bethesda's story / quest team.
The RadiantStory quests get a bit repetitive after a while, but still take you to some places you may have never been or would never have thought to go exploring before. And unlike Oblivion, Skyrim's caves are all hand-built locations, no procedurally-generated cave environments; the level design for each dungeon is brilliant.
Can't rate the game highly enough, especially on PC, where you can get all kinds of mods. Love it love it love it.

Re: Another bargain!
I have dozens of quests under misc.
Didn't realise the caves and dungeons were all created. Oblivions could look samey, similar to some of the vaults in Fallout looking too similar.
I lost the ability to perform dragon shouts and I'm not sure how. I might have sold something important to this to get gold.

Re: Another bargain!
That's a weird one. You don't need to have any equipment to perform dragon shouts. May be worth going on Bethesda's forum to ask if anyone else has had that.
The PC version has an odd bug relating to keyboard controls - if you redefine the controls, then it still shows the original key binding when it tells you how to do something. So I found that I couldn't trade dragon souls to unlock shouts because the key the menu said I needed to press wasn't actually the key I had configured. But when I figured out which key it was, I was fine.

Re: Another bargain!
I might need to hoke about the magic items.
I rarely use spells.
Some bint wont let me into winterhold college because I dont have the fear spell. She says she will sell me one for 30 gold, but this is all lies!
So I went and did another quest and will trade in some potion shop along the way.

Re: Another bargain!
At least with the saloon versions it pays for itself doing weddings.
Coupe is limited, perhaps as a grooms arrival car?

Here's a corker. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2002-PEUGEOT- ... 1c288cbca3
Someone seems to have 'upgraded' it with an L or LX interior, 2.0 HDi engine and the mother of all trolley dings.

2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

Re: Another bargain!
This might do as a commuting car

This one has some cracking photography

No doubt the offside has had a nice big long scrape / dent all the way along it, or several shades of red.

you'd spend near £6k trying to get the other one ready for the mot.
