Heater motor

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Heater motor

Post by stokeydaz »

Well finally picked up my v6 estate that I bought off a mate for £400 complete with 12 months mot. Leather interior and everything electric. Everything works apart from the heater motor :( if you put it on full blast and wiggle a few wires under the glovebox, it will work but only on full speed. Any ideas guys where the fault lies? I can't get it to work on any other speed. My mate reckons that it is a resistor problem. Is it a cheap and easy fix or a pain in the arse?
Thanks in anticipation :cheesy:
Cheers

Cheers plod :D
Seems that a new resistor module is needed. Can I get access to it by not removing anything other than the felt below glovebox?

You need to take the felt, and the blower itself on a D8
Pretty straightforward job :D
