Boyfriends

Post by scotty73 »

Hmmm what can i say? my eldest daughter turns 15 in October i've heard the odd whisper she was seeing some boy and heard a few things he said to her on facebook and took an instant dislike to him, well thats over now and she's with a boy very similar to herself actually very music minded and not into sport at all.

Should be fun if he turns up tonight when the euro cup final is on  it seems they both could have big future in singing if they stick at it he's on the list for only boys aloud and she's forever being asked to sing in events she's doing a performance for some posh council do for the mayor soon (dont know what he's mayor of mind)

I guess theres a question in here somewhere  how do i get passed this whole daddys girl sat on the settee opposite me hugging some boy? he was here til gone 10pm and i couldn't help but give them both the evil eye  ... Fair play he seems a lovely kid but your hugging DADDYS LITTLE GIRL

I'm not sure what you all think about this "daddy can we go up stairs to play on the Wii?" thing, out of sight naughty things can happen but then again if their gonna do it they'll find some ferns like i did :supafrisk:
On the plus side her little sister is always in the bedroom with them.

I'm 19 and have been with my other half since I was 16 (She was 17).
Shes very much a Daddys girl too, she'd rather go play with the car than put makeup on.

Since the start of the relationship we have always both gone to eachothers rooms around eachothers houses, never had a crossed word about it.
But at the same time we wouldn't do anything while anyone was there anyway, we have more respect than that.

Although I never really spoke to the other halfs Dad about it, I more than likley think he wasen't fond of me when I first started seeing her. Although I get on fine with him now and if I'm every working on the car I take it up hers and he usually lends a hand, or does it for me

ithink its differnt once theyve reached 18 /19 then there adults

Laws have changed now so as where we wouid of been treated as adults at 16 17

so we have responsibility of them till there 18now or left education, its not just morrals.

The Jeremy kyle show is a good example of Youths being left to do what they want .

My sons Girlfreinds Mother is the same as me,
she wont leave them alone in the house and point blank no to going upstairs,
so im not alone with being abit strict,

Lordy  I thought for a moment there we'd turned into a teenage girl's forum

Ok, I have no kids (thankfully...) but I would just say that teenage kids are being driven to do (err...) things their parents would disapprove of, not just by raging hormones, but by films, tv, advertising, peer pressure and by modern society in general. You will be hard pushed to prevent it (I don't think they make chastity belts any more) and by banning them from even getting the chance for a brief fumble somewhere where you can keep an ear on them, you're probably pushing them into doing their experimentation elsewhere, be it a mate's house or a back alley somewhere.

All I can suggest is try to be cool, try to understand, try to remember what it was like to be a teenager - I don't mean stand a big jar of condoms on their bedside table but try to stop being so bluddy Victorian

Thats my problem i was banging my brains out as a 13 year old, Up the mountain, in the local toilets, in the school yard at night and even while fishing down the river... In fact my dads mate caught us one rainy afternoon not sure if he told my dad but his words were "bet your glad i'm not your dad aint you? ya dirty little buggers"

My mates got wind of it and knicknamed me "by the rivers of babilon" SHE was a raving hormonal nympho like myself... See my point? she certainly did. :supafrisk:

we dont allow girlfriends/boyfriends upstairs for a few reasons, with 4 kids, 2 boys and 2 girls it didnt feel fair to allow one of them to take a boyfriend into there bedroom as they had to share with there siblings, and it kinda stuck. Our 26 yr old son lives at home still and theres no stopovers even now, although him and his gf have stayed overnight in our caravan.

And as for my daughters...............................they wouldnt dream of doing such terrible things as kissing boys/snogging or even worse, there my little girls for god's sake

right gotta dash my eldest daughters in labour with her 3rd child  (true that bit) :P :P

I tend to agree with Steve, I'd much rather them have them in the controlled environment of the house than fooling around God knows where. Saying that it probably has plenty to do with your own experiences when you were that age...

I don't know how I'm going to manage when my boys grow up but I'd like to think that I'll help them to be responsible and not force them into any bad decisions. Like Lozz I'm 40 this year and have no desire to be a granddaddy for a long time yet!!

Sooooo glad I've got boys, can only imagine how much more difficult it must be to see Daddy's little princess making out! :x
