Speaking of priorities......I was stood behind a rather shabby Mum in the Co-op recently and her little daughter was picking up things from the "tempt-me" displays they seem to have near the tills......."can I have this please Mum?"......."NO, put it BACK".....moved along to the cashier and asked for 40 x Marlborough Lights for herself

I've never understood people who Drink/Smoke but complain they are skint.....well "Derr"

I was never into trainers when I was young.

At 13 I'd be saving up for computer games rather and wearing my trainers into the ground.

Mind the old cartridges and towards the end when the N64 came out they could be about £50 - £60!
Lot of money.
CD/DVD/Bluray media games from the PS1 onwards brought the price of games down a bit (and there were cheeky chips that could be installed to play copied games on the ps1 :supafrisk: )

Cigs, drink, the designer sports clothes and trainers, the 2 holidays a year to Spain, the 1 or 2 SUVs, the big screen TVs etc. etc.
Bit of a stereotype, but I've seen it.

You wouldn't like me then.
Though seeing myself in some recent photos looking like Dr Eggman has prompted me to take a long hard look at what I'm eating

I mind seeing in one of the fast food places (Maccy Ds or KFC) a parent and child. The child had gotten a kids meal and wasn't interested. The parent quipped "Now eat your meal or you wont get a McFlurry / Crushem dessert!"

When I were young, the KFC/Maccy Ds *was* the treat, not a chore to sit through to get dessert!

The thread was fair game in my opinion, dissing Citroens while posting about a 3 series on another.

I don't really 'like' food so don't eat much of it. Sounds weird but I don't 'fancy' eating all the time, I have Breakfast, lunch and dinner and that's it (all modest portions too) if I tried to eat a 3-courser I'd most likely be sick.

Thats my problem. I love food.
Usually skip breakfast or have a cereal bar, then hungry by lunch so have a big lunch ,snack during afternoon then a big dinner in the evening, more snacking in late evening. Then at the weekends a couple of crates of beer.

So need to cut down on snacking, eat a bit healthier for the meals, and possibly switch to whiskey as my beverage of choice.

Except now it all seems to be mind-numbing, spirit-crushing reality shows.

But basically he sums it up nicely.

Similarly, "Heavyweight Champion of the World"
Reverend and the Makers wrote:Now that she's older
As the embers of romance fade to mortgages and leccy bills
Being comfortable and that
Nobody told her that she'd ever reach the stage
Where her husband bores or her or she lies about her age

He's compromising
At least he's got a job for life
Get born, get school, get job, get car
Pay tax and find a wife
And on that note the end can't come too soon
If you're not living on the edge you take up too much room

I could've been a contender
I could've been a someone
Caught up in the rat race
And feeling like a no one
Could've been me in the papers
With the money and the girls
I could've been the heavyweight champion of the world

At school he used to dream about being Bruce Lee
But the need for chops in the Manor Top
Ain't all that great you see
And so he gave up
On his black belt and first Dan
As near as he got to China
Was a week in Camber sands

I could've been a contender
I could've been a someone
Caught up in the rat race
And feeling like a no one
Could've been me in the papers
With the money and the girls
I could've been the heavyweight champion of the world

I could've been a contender
I could've been a someone
Caught up in the rat race
And feeling like a no one
Could've been me in the papers
With the money and the girls
I could've been the heavyweight champion of the world

It's boring, it's boring
It might put you to sleep
As the same old routine repeated week after week
And you work harder, work harder
You're told that you must
And you must earn a living
You must earn a crust

And be like everybody else
Be like everybody else
Be like everybody else
Just be like everybody else
Be like everybody else
Just be like everybody else
Be like everybody else
Just be like everybody else

Be like everybody else
Just be like everybody else
Be like everybody else
Just be like everybody else

Be like everybody else
Just be like everybody else
Be like everybody else
I'm not like everybody else

I could've been a contender
I could've been a someone
Caught up in the rat race
And feeling like a no one
Could've been me in the papers
With the money and the girls
I could've been the heavyweight champion of the world

I could've been a contender

Back on topic

I like the C5, there aren't enough of them. We need soft suspensioned saloons when even the DS5 and the outgoing Laguna are/were a tad on the sporty stiff suspension side.

My pa has a C5 X7 like Disco's, very smooth drive. If it wasn't for my back I'd love one. I can't imagine them with coil springs though but I'm guessing it's a sales ploy to net buyers who don't like floating about on a cloud :?

The thing about the c5 and most of its predecessors is they do have a lot of quirks and niggles but they are usually interesting and comfy enough to compensate for it. Things like abs sensors, DPF they can go on any car and can be fixed. At least it doesn't cost £2k to change a timing chain (honda cdti)
