Re: New 405
I'm hoping they'll replace it with a real D9 soon, (then we can get some projector headlights too).

2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

They still make them abroad...
Designed in France, it has been manufactured in:
Europe: from 1987 to 1997 at Sochaux (France) and Ryton (UK).
Zimbabwe: until 2002, by Quest.
Egypt: Wagih Abaza produces the 405, as well as marketing other models.
Iran: From mid 2010 it was produced by Iran Khodro as the 405 SLX with an air bag, ABS and other features.
Chile: Produced by Franco-Chilena in Los Andes, including STI Phase II model.
Argentina: Several saloon models, including diesels were built in the Villa Bosch Peugeot facility from 1992 to 1999. In this country the 405 has been an extremely popular car, with total sales of over 500,000 units.
Poland: Produced by FSO Lublin.
Taiwan: Produced by Yu-Tien Motors from 1989-1995 (Production ceased after bankruptcy).

I think I've just found FarmerPug's new car............
The 'Bardo' has an efficient 1.6 8-Valve 83bhp engine with 'aluminium' linked to a 4-forward speed Manual (and one 'for' reverse) and "non-assisted" steering

Re: New 405
Can it pull a cattle trailer?
"This mid-size executive pick-up is very practical for shop holders, farmerpugs, small businesses, and private transportation companies"
An executive pick-up. Would look well in the company car park beside the german boxes.
Has the same number of gears as the Honda. Thats all ye need!
"Brakes – front hydrolic disk
Brakes – rear hydrolic drum"
These hydrolic brakes, is that a Citroen derived system?
"Tinted glasses, side view mirrors, and double headrests provide decent safety for Bardo's driver and passenger. "
Those rose tinted glasses and headrests should be decent enough safety.
"Some products may not be available in a country."

Re: New 405
Did you browse their other motor vehicles? reading the spec on the 405 it was said to have a 1.6 petrol engine linked to a 'decent' 5-speed gearbox
Now I've had loads of gearboxes in my time but I can't remember which were more decent than the others

Re: New 405
Decent safety, its probably helped by the decent gearbox, and potentially decent engine, they combine to make even the most aggressive driver much more decent on the roads
