Changing Fuel Filter D8 2.1 XUD

Post by Roylewaa »

Hi chaps

Wanting to give my 2.1 TD a service today, oil and filters arnt a problem etc, I'm just a bit hesitant on changing the fuel filter, Is it easy to do on the 2.1?

Only reason I ask, is I once changed the fuel filter on a diesel Zafira and I could'nt get it started afterwards, it took 2 days of faffing and towing it around the block to get it going again

any info would be a great help :)

Hi mate 8) Ive been online quite a bit, just not been logged in as I could'nt remember my password

Ive had the 2.1 TD for a few weeks now, only paid £350 for it, 150k and its pulls really well, better than my Mondeo TDDI

Thought I would try the 2.1, as ive had both the 90 and 110 HDI's and thought i'd go a bit more old school reliable this time :D

It passed its mot last week with only 1 advisory on the handbrake, which I was amazed at :)

Thanks mate, thats what I thought to be honest, just prime up after the new filter is fitted, none of that direct injection or common rail malarkey

Its a great engine, I love the power delivery, only gripe is it seems to tail off as quick as it comes :|

Bung half a bottle of redex/wynns/stp/ in the filter bowl before you put the filter in, always do that in my 2.1, helps keep thefuel system clean.
