406 droplinks - Are there different versions?

Hello Guys,

I think I need to replace the drop links on my 406.

They look like these

Yet previous ones I remember looked like

Am I assuming correctly that they changed over at sometime around 1997?

I wondered what the hell was going on when I looked yesterday!

I replaced them on another 406 for an MOT only a few months ago that then went bang!
