Here's my little list (updated):

1. Got my license in 1998 - F reg Ford Fiesta 1.1L mk3 - got nicked. Slow but reliable despite needing to fill it up with oil at the same time as petrol.
2. 3 years of no car due to uni but drove my dad's H reg 405 1.6L GLX.. one of the most comfy cars I've been in. Loved it.
3. 2001 - Time sharing my mum's J reg Renaut Clio 1.4 Auto I broke the gearbox revving it up to 5k rpm all the time where it would only engage reverse.
4. 2002 - Time sharing my mum's S reg Renault Clio 1.9D mk2 - didn't really like it. Too small and slow.. and electrics broke down all the time Mechanically OK though.
5. 2003 - My current S reg 406 2.1 TD LX but extensively modified to cross LX/GLX/Exec spec So far the greatest and the most reliable car I've owned.

6. 2008 - Taking delivery of 54 reg Accord 2.2L CDTi exec tomorrow. Let's hope it's as good as the '6.

7. 2009 - Accord was the reast reliable car I've ever owned - despite being comfy and powerful. Back on my current 406 HDI and still going strong

started of with a bog standard 84 nova 1.0 merit did more miles on back of a tow truck

then progressed up to a 1.2 nova merit 89 plate then did the thing all youngsters did banged a cavvy turbo engine and box in

then the kids arrived so got a cavvy 2.0 cdx m reg

then a vectra v6 cdx with all the toys cost a fortune to run and insure

then i saw sense and got a xantia 2.1 sx like sh*t of the proverbial unjtil some twat in frontera decided to use me as his brakes

1.9 406 exec loved the car but it started hermoraging oil


now i own a 110 hdi glx 52 plate with a quarter of mill on clock still drives great and get 50 mpg regular

just in process of getting a laguna diesel purchased said laguna what a bit of sh*t constantly broke electrics where sh*t

now traded in lag for a mondy diesel don`t really know why I didn't come back to pug nether had a major problem last one I had was coming upto 300K mls

Yeah, loved a bit of offroading, greenlaning really. Trouble is they changed the law a few years back so now most of the lanes are illegal for motors - bastards!

So the Suzuki is still here, taking up space in my garage and waiting for someone to make me an offer

I was a member of a few clubs, but I never really l liked the off road "pay and play" sites, pretty much always ended up with damage and getting stuck needing recovery. I enjoyed laning. With all the nearby lanes closed the clubs dissolved and the whole scene fell apart. There's still good laning to be had in other parts of the UK but I'd want a different vehicle for driving long distances on the road, maybe a discovery or a shogun. the Suzuki pretty scary and very noisy and uncomfortable at anything more than about 55mph

Anyway times change and that hobby has passed, plenty of other stuff to occupy my time these days
