I also hope that whoever gets your 406 looks after it as well as you did, very nice car indeed.

Thanks very much mate, and I'm not going anywhere, this place feels like home!! (They already have a couple of Volvo owners so I'm sure they won't mind - We're taking over!!)jonsowman wrote:Very nice Dai, hope you still pop in here occasionally.

Nice looking motor thatDaiRees wrote:OK dudes, so as I'm sure you guessed this was a bit of a loaded question...
I spotted a car for sale on the interweb which sounded pretty much exactly what I've been looking for for some time. It's almost exactly the spec I'd have chosen if I was speccing it from new, except that I'd have chosen the 2.0l engine instead of the 1600, and I might have chosen a different colour (simply because this one is very close to my Pug and I wouldn't have minded a change). It's an ex-demonstrator so it's fully loaded with every optional extra in the book!!![]()
So I went to see it and took it for a test drive and the engine is fine, OK it's not going to win a race but it doesn't feel slow either, and it's soooo smooth and quiet on the motorway! 62.9 mpg combined (claimed!) and 119g CO2 so £30 a year tax![]()
Anyway, I've paid my deposit and am now arranging my monies and just waiting to hear when I can go and collect it![]()
OK, bring on the old man jokes!!!!!![]()

I'll be really sad to see the pug go after all this time, but I suppose we all need to move on...![]()
Anyone wanna buy a lovely 406??
Edit: Oh, almost forgot... 35/100 http://www.nextgreencar.com/view-car/30 ... al-6-speed
Yeah, but they started using Ford oneslozz wrote:Ithink you might be lucky too iread somewhere Volvo stopped using renault parts on there new stuff.
Apparently this car will have the new D4 engine (163 BHP) which is very good, oil level situation still applies.DaiRees wrote:trem1 wrote:[ volvo v40?? is it ??
Lol, cheers Jasper, it's actually a 2012 model, does that make a difference?
Even the 52.3 is a good 20mpg more than the 406 is giving you isn't it?DaiRees wrote:According to the brochure it's 115 bhp, 199 lbs/ft of torque
It's a 4 cyl 8 valve common rail diesel. 0-62 in 11.5, top speed 118.
Combined mpg 62.8, urban 53.3, extra urban 68.9.
Interesting, do you have any info on the engine that is fitted then Odin?OdinEidolon wrote:EDIT: I see the 1.6 DRIVe fitted in teh v70 isn't the Peugeot DV6, so not rubo problems
