Only parking dings really with me at the wheel but I was a passenger when my dad'a Opel Ascona (cavalier to you and me) got totalled by a woman who's response to her throttle sticking was to scream and hold her hands over her eyes!!

I was a little concerned how Mr Earwig treats his friends in their hour of need tho!!
I was more concerned about my mate in the passenger seat who decided to have an epileptic fit. Roughed out with a hammer, sprayed with primer to match the rest of the heap.

Wow, you lot have been crashing a lot eh?

My entries are an Astra that I spun in the rain as I crested the brow of a hill on a gentle corner, around 50mph. It was a single track road and I managed a full 360 degrees without touching the dry stone walls at either side. Nothing to do with my abilities, it was just pure luck.

2nd is my 306. Again a narrow country road, there was a choke point as the road passed between a house and a barn. I was driving too quickly and didn't see an A6 coming the other way until it was too late to stop. I hauled over into the gutter to avoid a 60mph head on, but unfortunately the houses front door step jutted out into the road. Left front wheel hit it and essentially ripped the near side front off the car.
The owners of the house were a little startled, but thankful that I wasn't an inch further over - I'd have been into their front room!

Interestingly I was apparently the 3rd person to write off a car on that door step. I asked if they'd considered relocating the front door, to which they said "no, not really"....

and wham !! ford cortina straight into the back , pushed me out into the junction but was
lucky the guy pulling off on the right had seen what happened and swerved to miss me .
police were called and the conversation sort of went like this ....
policeman to me ..... are you ok do you know what happened
me ...... back hurts and yes that fookin prick ran in the back of me while i was stopped at red light
policeman ......to othe r motorist , did you see what happened
other motorist ....... yes was just as he said
policeman to the prick ....... why didn't you stop
prick ...... i thought he was going straight through
policeman ..... but they were on red
prick ....... they had only just changed he could have gone through , my fookin wife will

Glad I'm not the only one been involved in a few, thanksfully all but one were not classed as my fault, that one was done 50/50 as there were no witnesses

1985 Crysler Alpine - Middle car of 3. I hit the back of a 6month old XJ6 at a roundabout, a new Vauxhall Nova ran into the back of me. Nice guy in the Jag said he heard a bang before he felt a nudge. Damage to Jag was 2 exhausts and rear bumper. Nova was a complete front end demolition job (love towbars), my damage was radiator grill broke, 1 headlight and and the plastic flap on the towbar electrics came off, had the car for another year then sold it
1986 100cc Honda - While filter down the outside of traffic in rush hour a Volvo 240 decided to do a U turn as I was passing him. Bike a right off, I had broken colar bone, 3 cracked ribs, a few bones in the foot were broken. Car drive pissed off. Thankfully witnesses got his number plate.
1989 Honda VT500e Misjudged a roundabout and clipped the kerb at speed, offside of bike was completely wrecked. Scrapped it.
1990 Pug 305 Est - Head on collision. The other car was on the wrong side of the road on a blind bend. No witnesses, insurance went 50/50. Pug was 9 inches shorter than before. Cortina was still drivable.
1995 Sierra MK1 - Guy turned right across the front of me. Didn't even get to hit the brakes, 3 month old daughter was in the back. Car totalled, daughter ok - Recommend Britax child seats
2000 Mondeo MK1 - Hit by bus on a roundabout, front wing and bumber had to be replaced
2001 Mondeo MK1 again - Corsa drove into the back at a set of red lights. He didn't brake, I was stationary, complete write off - The Corsa was a hire car because the other guys car was being repaired from another accident.

Touch wood none since
