Just got back from a week in the caravan down in Brean sands and on the way there and back i saw quite a few 406's but in Brean itself i must have saw 100 of the feckers, was there some 406 convention down there i didn't know about? i counted 10 driving past the beer garden i was in for just one pint one day in the week and there was loads on the site we stayed on.
Did i pass any of you?

Could there be more there than there is in derry city, i was there a few months back and every street had at least 5 406's in various trims and conditions and a lot of them were taxis.

I reckon they're becoming a rarer sight round my way.
And I think that's a good thing - they'll have almost bottomed out in price, I'll feel a little more exclusive and scrappys will be ripe for parts (least the last one I visited was)

I say grab a good one and hang on to it!
Good point that,
yeah ive noticed too there seems to be more 406s in the scrapyards, Alot more than there was a year or so back,
when iwanted parts, there was just virtualy Bare shells in the Yards.. and Ebay prices where scandalous on price for 2nd hand parts
As of prices of 406s ithink the Values of Trebled, for eg. a half decent d8 is worth a grand or so, abit back you couid pick them up for 350 -400 notes,
I'm surprised by how 406 prices are holding up, (my game plan was to swap mine for a lower-mileage equivalent sometime in the 12 months from now, expecting it would only cost me £500 - £1000 to do so). Decent 406's are still fetching almost what I paid for this one, 4 years ago.

Anewer car Might Apear to be a good thing but .. is it in the long run,
alot of older cars can be More Reliable than Newer ones, thats what ive learnt anyway
They used to be quite a rare sight where I am but suddenly they're everywhere Mainly D8s. Maybe as they're getting more affordable now - under 2 grand!
