It's not that different to my 406
However, it's not red, and this is a good point.

Ah, which reminds me. There is one very good reason for buying a BMW: inline 6.

Current: 407 2.2 HDi 170 & C6 2.7 HDi.

It's a saloon. Wide-mouthed frog front end. Umm, the rear r/h wing looks an odd shape.

I could buy a 406 for that money

Tried hard to talk myself into one - much better value for money than a low mileage 406 - but it's just not working.

Something deeply irational is going on, BMW's are starting to look reasonably priced compared to 406's.
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

E39 M5s are more or less the same price as 407 coupés on ebay! That's utterly ridiculous!

You'd have to be clinically insane to go from a 406 to a vectra. :supafrisk:

Exactly.
The 2.2 is a Bosch system so should be amenable to the super tractor treatment.

E60s are still quite dear, especially if you're after 6 cylinders and don't want poverty trim level.
Anyway, which is ugliest: 407 or E60?!

I went from a 406 to a Passat, from 9yrs of owning my pug. I can honestly say I have never looked back. The only thing I miss my pug for is the limo ride and quiet hdi engine.

I have had my passat for nearly 3 yrs and fancy a change. This time an estate car and an auto. The only problem, once you have drove a car with a dsg box its hard to change.

I'm looking at leasing this time. Sensible head says passat estate. For around the same money I can lease a Merc E350 estate :-).

I agree, tough choice.
I would still consider a late. looked after E39 estate
E91's are marginally less hideous

Pasta CC look nice. What's the inside like?
Hmm: 2.0 167. I want to see power and torque curves for it.
And I bet they're well over £5k.
