DPF (FAP) Cleaners

Post by exec406 »

Hi

I recently purchased 'Powermax High Performance DPF Power Clean'

I thought this might save me having to drive at 4,000rpm in second gear for 6 miles every now and then to clean the filter out, however on the back of the can it states 'Not for vehicles with electronically driven filter regeneration additive tank systems like e.g. Citroen, Peugeot' NB: Bar code for this product is: 4042292334506

I take it this rules out a DW12 TED4 engine then?

I think this may mean don't add to the Eolys additive tank but OK to use at fuel tank?

Anyone any info?

I can't comment on wonder cleaners but the take it off and jet wash it method worked wonders on the other halfs 307.
Pick up improved a little but mpg's went from mid 30's to mid 40's for her daily commute.

Not got round to the de fapping. Driving at 4,000 rpm, sustained for 10 mins or so, seems to clear it out. Reading the description on another link (below) it says don't add to the additive tank (which I wouldn't) but OK to add at the fuel tank?

Brother-in-law had a 307sw & the DPF blocked warning light came on. I took off the DPF & jet washed it but he had to go to the stealer to get the fault code reset & they filled up the DPF additive (I didn't know about it at the time  ). The stealer charged him £200  so every year before MOT I jet washed the DPF & topped up the additive (could they put that tank in a more awkward place :frown: ). He never had any more problems with the DPF but the many other problems he had led to him getting rid of it after 3 years.

I was getting my car serviced recently at a local independent Peugeot service place and I saw they had this DPF cleaner called 'Forte' Person in the garage thought it was available trade only but you can get it on the link below. He said they use it at the fuel tank.

I don't know if this is any different from the 'DPF power clean' stuff I mentioned earlier in this thread.
