Hello everyone

Post by climbersuk »

Hello one and all.
I have just sold my money pit v8 land rover discovery, and bought a 2001 406 estate with the 2 litre hdi engine.
Absolutely loving it so far. Drives really well, am impressed. Just need to remember to avoid potholes and floods in this hahahahaha

Hi & welcome to the forum. 8)

I guess you can't help but notice it's a bit cheaper to run. 406 estates are great load-lugging mile munchers. Enjoy.
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

Only got it on Friday. So still getting used to it!!!

But put 100 quids worth of Diesel in, already done 75 miles and still got loads of go go juice left. I would only get 200 miles to 50-60 quids worth of LPg in the gasguzzler!!!

As for the space, its amazing!! Fits the dog crate for both dogs in no problems!!!!!

Hello & welcome :) Yes you'll probably be getting 750 odd miles from a tank in these, and you'd be very well advised to avoid floods given some recent threads.

That sort of mileage is absolutley stupid!!! (compared to what I have been used too anyway. Anything more than 11mpg is a bonus hahahahahahhahaa)

Have seen the stuff about floods, I shall be avoiding them like the plague, going to have a proper look around the engine bay, so I can figure out where the intake is! Should have taken the snorkel off my land rover and fitted it to the 406 hahahahahaha
