Does anyone know what the score is with The Blue Speed cameras,
Igot Flashed tonight, speed camera was on the oposite side of the road,(No Markings)
can these pick up the oposite side of the road,?
ipresume im nailed 34 ish in a 20 zone,
no sighns either, always thought a speed camera shouidnt flash a car from the front?
My own fault realy, No excuses,
but theres no sighns /road markings nothing,
Surley theyve got to put warnings up, Aint that classed as entraptment or something?
and the flash from the camera almost burnt my eye lids off, arnt they sposed to use red led instead of flash if theyre snapping front view of a car
that couid cause a crash
That's interesting, you're correct in that Truvelos have a red/magenta flash. Any camera with a white flash shouldn't have gone off for your side of the road.
Was there someone on the other side of the road who it might have been taking a picture of?

Yeah there was someone in a ford festa on the oposite side of the Road
but the camera went off before he /she went past it,
iseen the camera but by the time i geared down /anchors (prayers) etc it was too late, at least 5 flashes ihad to look to the passenger side of the car it was that bright,
I think they're triggered by piezo sensors in the road, and there are three small white lines for the pictures. They're much less obvious than the ones for Gatsos.
I reckon you might've got away with that, fingers crossed!

If so, that's a Gatso, and definitely should not have triggered for traffic on your side of the road.
I've no idea on the lack of white lines, as far as I know all cameras need them to prove you were indeed speeding via photographic evidence. Maybe someone else knows?

I never did understand why they had to give people warning of an impending speed camera?
Don't get me wrong I'm as guilty as the next man and probably wouldn't have a license due to speeding points but if you're followed by an unmarked police car they can stop you for speeding so what's the diference with cameras?
To me, if you get caught by a camera with signs you could also be done for 'due car and attention' as you should have seen the sign and slowed down.
If they really wanted to stop speeders then they should have more cameras and no signs, but like I said I'd be on my push bike being stopped for having no lights

That is kind of true, if people know where the cameras are then all they need to do is slow down for them and speed up again once the danger is passed. Perhaps they're trying to avoid the scenario where people spot the camera, slam on the brakes and cause a pile up.
I hate speed cameras, I never did get the hang of watching my speedometer and at the same time watching the roads. Hey, I'm not some lizard with eyes that can point in two directions at the same time
I presume Loz is out with his polaroid now, fingers crossed he finds lines on the other side of the road.
if its isn't yellow and signed they cant keep the funds raised from the fines (which is why the majority are), but there is nothing illegal about dark blue / grey ones without signs.
