Larger, heavier and slower with the same engine, but also very comfortable, quite roomy and absolutely superb for long distances, and has loads of gadgets both standard and on the options list.

i vote for 406, the 607 doesnt have much more gadgets inside or space to pose some serious threat to 406.
Also,406 has nice lines,607 looks like a moving church :cheesy:
but if you like 607,go for it,i could be wrong tho and 607 proves to be quite a good vehicle.

I think the only real issue is dragging the extra weight about, and the size of it. Of course, if you need the extra space then that's a non-issue anyway.

I guess the ones to look out for are the 2.2 HDi.
Earlier ones are 136 HP, but these can undergo the super tractor treatment to give out about 180 HP.
From about 2006 they're the 2.2 170 which is not so easily remapped.

And FWIW, I think the 607 is a very good looking car, and I'd gladly have one.

Current: 407 2.2 HDi 170 & C6 2.7 HDi.
Former: 406 1.9 TD; 406 HDi 90; 407 2.2 160; 307cc 180; 508 HDi 140.

My dad had a 607 V6 for nearly 4 years and was a fantastic car! He bought it at 2 years old. Had the coils done twice but other than services and tyres it cost him nothing in repairs!

Thanks for the replies folks, it seems nobody has got any real issues with the 607 hdi, but one of my worries concerns electrical problems having read some motoring press reviews, this is why I asked the expert Peugeot owners on our very own forum, "oh" by the way if I did decide to go down the 607 route it would be the auto for the full luxury trip.
