The HDI 110 will do 130mph, its limited to that so wont go higher unless you get the limiter removed somehow.
The 110 is much quicker then 90 tho.

i reckon the turbo could pull an indicated 140 mph on the speedo, ive had my standard 2.0 16v to 130 mph on the speedo
FAQ - 406 D8 petrol (excl. V6) running and starting problemsPeugeot wrote:what are you worried about? we made car that lasted 10 years"..."Zat is very goode non?

I would expect the Turbo to hit 150mph, Foxy prob knows if it can or not.
Every car I have had in 13yrs driving had a top speed 5-10mph less than the clock speed.
The HDi 110 has clock speed of 160mph. 130mph comes up at about 4,300 revs, red line is 5,200.

Er, the post you replied underneath has the specs for 406 performance. With your mods I'd expect a few mph less due to extra drag. Also dont' forget your speedo will probably be nearly 10% off.PUG406SRI-Turbo wrote:How about a 406 Turbo whats the top speed on them i do 132mph once and i chikened out aswell lol.
The turbo in standard form has 150bhp...which means it isn't going to do much more than about 135mph. (Actual speed - not indicated and also on the flat, not down a hill!)
There's a physics equation somewhere to work out speed increase versus engine power increase...

Almost right. The a turbo fresh from the factory would make about 150bhp and do 130mph allegedly. Having said that mine will top out anywhere between 125-135mph measured by GPS, so there's obviously a fair amount of leeway in those figures, although gradient and more importantly wind speed/direction make a HUGE difference at that end of things.Juzza wrote:The turbo in standard form has 150bhp...which means it isn't going to do much more than about 135mph.
It's a useful formula if you're designing a car and know exactly what your wind speed and drag co-efficient are, but its usefulness outside a lab is limited. There's a physics equation somewhere to work out speed increase versus engine power increase...
no, just corrected*Waits to get slated in the next few posts! ...*
