I think that's "choose her ring" dirty boy :P

I kind of chose my wife's wedding ring but with her there watching - "what do you think of that one?". She's ended up with one that kind of reminds me of a castellated nut :cheesy: The price of the things though, it's just a band without any glass cutting properties, who'd have thought a little piece of metal could cost so much? It may as well have come in a bag with Peugeot/Citroen written on it

Bailes, me and Mrs Welly were like you two, love's young dream, both worked and got a house together (our first brand-new 3 bed semi was £45K in 1993  ) we shared everything, things were good and eventually/inevitably the excitement of being together began to wear off......the sex became infrequent.......bitterness became the norm.....she prevented me from pursuing my motoring hobbies........in the end I stabbed her to death with a meat cleaver.

I managed to feign Diminished Responsibility and spent 8 years in an institute but don't let this put you off mate.

Ive been with my missus for 8 years.
We have a mortgage
A fantastic son and considering another..

I don t feel rushed to get married although all the parents keep asking!

We have come from both seperated parents so maybe the push to get married so soon is not with us?

My own Engagement situation was quite funny the way it came about and i looked a bit like the cat in Steve's avatar for a few minutes.

Me and the wife had discussed getting engaged without telling anyone then one afternoon in a pub in Cardiff her family had a big get together for her uncles birthday i think it was and her mother came out with this corker in front of a table of 30 family members.

Well it's Carla's (the wife) 21st birthday in July and we're going to have a joint party for her birthday and engagement to Scott.

Me: ARE WE? first i heard  now I'm not the tallest of people but for 5 minutes i felt 2 feet tall.

I knew i should have got in the car and wellied it and never looked back... needless to say nearly 20 years later we're still going strong Who needs sex eh! :supafrisk:

Oh damn, I was hoping the 'stab with meat cleaver' would throw you off the scent. I could tell you what really happened that night but it's not for the faint-hearted;

The 'D R' verdict came about after they couldn't figure out how any human being could possibly have carried out such an attack with seemingly simple tools; as it happens I was only holding a 7mm allen key (for a Ford Fiesta XR2 brake caliper) and an adjustable spanner at the time. Investigators found a wrecking bar and a 3lb lump hammer under the car and asked for these to be taken into consideration.

I found out last Saturday when I did my Mondeos brakes that a T45 fits absolutely perfectly!

Yep, I still have the 7mm allen key bought for my XR2 (once they let me have it back), I think it even had a sort of plastic sleeve at one point but I didn't want to complain.

Good luck Bailes, if you invite 406oc to the engagement do then please account for an additional 46 guests - I hope that's ok?

I bought one to do the back brakes on my Escort van 18 years ago it was a posh one it had a metal grip handle on it... Never used the fecker since it's still in the shed somewhere.

Think I'm going to do it.

And having met some of you, I don't think inviting you lot to the engagement party would be a good idea.
You'd have Doggy welding something; probably a DPF of some sort,
Dai with his sheep, pipe and slippers,
Welly counting his cylinders and moaning about handling wearing his pipe and trying to smoke Dais slippers after forgetting his own clutching onto his 7mm allen keys,
You'd have RWB talking about Maths,
Discopol telling us how to order a BigMac in Polish,
Puggy drawing Penises on a school book,
Scotty would turn up with a caravan,
Plod crying about giving up his 406. Maybe he could have a little 406 car boot sale?,
And then there is Mr earwig convincing everyone his Yoyo is the best thing since sliced bread!

Yeah I think a 406oc invite probably isnt a good idea :supafrisk:
