started riding bikes in 1996. Fuel then was 56p per litre! we had fuel protests when it £1 a litre in the 00's IT cost me £2 max to fill my scooter then! My 406 estate costs me £102 approx to fill her up, and im lucky to get 400miles out of that tank  I hardly use my car anymore as I cant afford the fuel, and use my bike to get to work local to me. The car is used when I go to work further afield or when I have the kids/Go fishing.

When I was working in poole everyday I was spending £400 or more a month of fuel! that was almost 45% my wage. It is cheaper for me to insure both car and bike and tax both and use the bike 85% of the time then it is to just use the car. IT would also cost me £10 a day almost to park my car at my main office as I work in Southampton High street most days! The MPs dont care as they have fuel cards/Company Cars. and six figure wages some of them. so they can afford to run their cars whatever the price of fuel!

If I had a spare grand I would get an LPG Conversion done. IT would pay itself back in 3 months with the amount of fuel I sometimes spend!

At the moment I just stick 10 quid in the 306
Just to keep it off the fuel light off.

48- 53 miles off a tenner , not worked out the mpg yet.
But I'm missing a diesel car now,
